E-bike maintenance begins with ordinary bicycle safety—tires, wheels, brakes, steering, and drivetrain—then adds battery condition, secure mounting, wiring, controls, firmware, and authorized electrical service. Never open or modify a battery pack.
Expect different wear patterns
Motor assistance, bicycle weight, speed, and cargo can increase load on chains, cassettes, brake pads, rotors, tires, and spokes. Inspect these based on use rather than assuming a conventional-bike interval.
Protect electrical components
Follow the maker’s washing instructions, avoid high-pressure water, keep charging interfaces dry, and inspect visible cables for crushing or abrasion. Use only approved chargers and replacement electrical parts.
Treat warnings as information
Record error codes exactly and consult official documentation. Repeatedly clearing a warning without finding its cause is not maintenance.
Stop for battery damage
A swollen, cracked, leaking, unusually hot, hissing, or odorous battery requires immediate removal from use and manufacturer or local emergency guidance. Build your routine with the e-bike schedule and battery care guide.
